Using Mass Email with ShoutCMS

Getting started?

Within your ShoutCMS platform are Mass Email tools, which you can use to send emails to those in your contact lists. You can create, style, and test your emails from ShoutCMS, helping you improve your customer experiences with your business.


You can access the Mass Email area through the main navigation in ShoutCMS, which is where you create your emails, and where you can get an overview of how your emails are performing.

Build your emails in ShoutCMS, test them, and then send them to specific contacts in your contact list.

Creating an email

Just like editing the pages on your ShoutCMS website, you can use Snippets to quickly assemble great-looking emails to test & send. Simply drag the designs onto your email editing space, adjust the content, and send a test email.


Email Snippets

How a browser reads code on a website is considerably different than how an email application reads the same code. For this reason, we recommend relying on the Snippets that come with your ShoutCMS website if you aren't familiar with coding emails from scratch.

Adding images

You can include images throughout your emails in the Mass Email builder. ShoutCMS will add the proper image links, so your images will always show up correctly in your recipient's email applications.

Adding sender & recipient information

Before or after your email is designed, you'll want to make sure your sender & recipient fields are filled out properly. This will determine which account the email is coming from, and to what audiences the email is being sent to.

Test your emails! You can quickly check and review your emails before sending them out to your intended recipients.

Sending a test email

Before you send out your emails, you'll want to make sure you send a test email first. This will go to the email address you've specified, and will give you an opportunity to spot mistakes, formatting-quirks, and missing-links.


Here are the key things you want to look for when testing your emails:

  1. Missing images
  2. Spelling & grammar mistakes
  3. Broken links
  4. Poor wording or messaging

Once you're satisfied with your email, return to ShoutCMS and use the Send button to send out your email.


Always check your test emails

Emails are naturally quite tricky to format, due to the variety of email applications used. For this reason, it will be helpful to check your test emails in a few different email applications to make sure it looks good in all scenarios.

Analyzing the success of your emails will help you understand the strengths and weaknesses of your digital marketing efforts.

Viewing your results

Having sent out one or more emails, you'll be able to use the Reports view from the Mass Email area of ShoutCMS to see your results. This is where you can learn more about the performance of your emails, giving you insights into how well your email marketing is doing.


It's important to be actively monitoring the results of your emails, and be considering ways to improve the quality of your email design & messaging.
